Summer Days

There's an endless list of reason why I love the summer season. One of it is being able to go to the beach. But with Wellington weather, it's hard to rely on the forecast because it can be hot and sunny and then the next thing you know, there's a storm outside your window. Despite weather changes, it's still summer and we have to savour every moment of it before cold nights come in. 

Yesterday, we went to Paraparaumu beach. This time though, the weather wasn't as good as the last time we were there. It was far too windy and cold but they insisted to try crabbing since we're already there. We were trying to build sand castles and play with the water with our jackets on. 

Kaelyn started to enjoy the water and even wanted to swim further. We had to walk away because the waves are too big for her and it's just too cold. She enjoyed every minute she was in it though. 

We dug up a hole on the sand so that it will be filled with water. Kaelyn kept jumping up and down just like Peppa Pig with her muddy puddle. 

I removed her jacket at some point because the wind died out a little but it didn't last long. But at least she got to show her Peppa Pig wetsuit even if it was just for a little bit. 

After we all got dressed up, we went to the playground. Kaelyn got to see the duck and ducklings and even tried to catch them when she saw that they were out of the water. 

Have I mentioned that she's obsessed with ducks too? That's why it's the only word that she kept on saying everyday. She has also discovered that she hates swings but absolutely in love with the slides.

She didn't even want to leave the place. I had to carry her to the car while she cried her heart out. We've been there for an hour and I'm sure that's quite enough. Besides, we're a bit hungry so they decided that it's home time. We had crabs for lunch and dinner. It was delicious but my stomach didn't like the idea of it. Patrick started having allergies from crabs a few years ago and now it seems to be my turn. I hope not because I don't want to miss out on eating such yummy food. But other than that, it was a very fun filled day.
