Throwback Thursday - One Week Old Baby K

It's is yet another Throwback Thursday! I am on time this time, wow. I have so many things I need and want to post but I've been putting them off. I'm a little better now, no cough or cold (thank goodness) so I should be able to get back into blogging more often.

Since Baby K turned 6 months this month, I will tell you the story on what happened in our first few weeks after Baby K was born.

Sleeping like an angel

She looked nothing like me when she was born. Everyone was saying how she looked like Patrick and she does look like him. None of my features was passed on to hers. I've never noticed it until recently when I realised she's starting to look like me.

I remember how tired I was that first week. I was always looking after her, making sure she was okay. She was born the day she just turned 38 weeks so the midwife kept telling me to make sure that she's layered up so she won't get cold. She's still adapting to changes so it's better to be safe. I usually put on some wool clothing on her then a long sleeves, pants, socks, mittens and a baby beanie. As you can see, I also covered her with a wool blanket and another one on top of that. I thought it's a little bit too much but I wanted her to be warm as possible so I just followed what was told to me. The thing is, a couple of days after, she started having this rash on her neck. I was worried and went to the doctor straight away. Thank goodness it was nothing major. The doctor said that she's just having heat rash. She gave me a fatty cream to help relieve the rash. I had a hard time applying the cream on her neck because she had double chin and she cries whenever I touch it.

Look at  my double chin

It went away a couple of days after that and I just dressed her with one layer of clothing and just wrapped her in a blanket. Who knew she won't feel cold much. It still happens now, she sweats even though the heater is turned off. Other than that,  everything was just adorable. She randomly smiles when she's asleep. I'll definitely miss her being tiny but I can't wait for her to grow up and tells me what she wants to do.

Hope you enjoy this little story. Happy thursday!
